"To Infinity and Beyond"
The Elements of our planet are the most fundamental truths of life and we must accept their existence no matter their texture, colour and nature.
This drawing, done in colour pencils and black ball point pen, aims to represent a person with a different style compared to social norms. Every aspect of him battles a social stigma.
His long flowing hair crushes the idea that boys or men should keep their hair short, something that seems quite prevalent in India. I have seen how long hair is immediately connected to a punk nature.
The galaxy that he seems to "wear" protrudes out in jagged lines or spikes and his eyebrows are a prominent ultramarine shade. His "punk" nature connects to the galaxy, an area that has endless potential but is still novice to us.
His face does not seem to shed masculinity such as the trace of a moustache or beard, but rather he seems to adorn pale pink lips. He strays away from the exaggerated view of masculinity.
Yet, he is an element of our earth, something that must be accepted and celebrated for its unique significance. His potential swirls high into space and his values are as powerful and grounded as the ocean. No matter how he dresses himself, he can still reach "To Infinity and Beyond".
