Eastside
One of the stark qualities I love about this song is that it talks about a form of bond and loyalty that remains no matter how many "bills to pay" are there. Despite the obstacles and lows of life, she flashes back to her childhood when she was falling in love, where her love began and still lives.
In the song, he talks about taking her to "the city where the sun don't set" in "a blue corvette". He yearns for a city where they can spend time and where the day never ends and they can always be together. There is a form of strong longing that shows in this song.
This drawing shows a thriving, modern city with a metro and tall, skyscraper buildings, meant to symbolise this love and bond and relationship that longs to sustain. This city, in the shape of the car, is powered by the movements of the wheel, a yellow, glowing sun. As the city pushes a bit further, the rolls of the wheel power it to grow.
They always say that love needs to be chased, but what it really needs is persistence and work. It's very much like building your own city, your own safe haven which learns its ways overtime rather than overnight.
